The chairman of Trimpell Cricket Club, Lancaster (Junior Section), Liam Aspden, has asked if we can help in publicising plans for an under-9 cricket competition.

We have talked to him and he says there are existing leagues for older age groups but, at the moment, nothing in the area for the under-9s.

He is proposing a competition in which even small teams - typically seven but as few as four youngsters -can take part and open to both girls and boys. He is hoping to launch the project in an open day/competition at Trimpell, probably in June.
